Should I resign if they manage to get pictures of me sleeping at night?

You see, sometimes I sleep very very partially naked.

It is very hot in Malaysia.

I treasure you…

Sayang, I love you.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Hope to see you before May 13.

love me

 love me more

 love me again

think of me

think of me fondly

think of me again

for I love you dearly

To our benevolent Sultan Azlan Shah,

I am a born-bred Perakian. Batu Gajah was my home for the first four years of my life before my family shifted to Ipoh where we still stay in. I have always loved Ipoh as a hometown, although I am now working in KL.

This is the city where I meet my best friends, receive the finest education and lessons about life. I am also most proud of the Perak royal household that has always said the very things true to the rakyat’s heart.

I remembered that you once spoke to my brother who was only 7-years- old then.Though it was only a short conversation, nevertheless, the memory of you as a people’s ruler etched in our hearts. Hence, I plea to you, my dear Ruler, that you will exercise your excellent judgment and discernment to hear the hearts of Perakians, your people. Today is indeed a dark day for Perak, where we see power struggle being on centrestage instead of nation-building.  We have hopes of a better Perak, one that is growing economically and stability. And I believe Perakians have seen glimpses of development since Pakatan Rakyat governed the state.

Verily, the state government is far from perfect, far from ideal, but I believe this government ought to be given a more significant chance to serve the people of Perak. I am not a lawyer, hence, I do not know how to speak the lingua franca of law and legalities.

But, I do know that the Perakians have spoken on March 8, 2008 and we have chosen the government to represent us. At least, let us decide once again whom we believe can govern this state well. Let us have the government we voted for, not one that barges in through crossovers.

The time has come for nation-building to be the country’s and the state’s highest priority. The responsibility and privilege has become even more significant under such trying economic times, where the man on the street is hard hit and the poor becomes even poorer.

Yours sincerely,

Perakian

Sweet farewell to 2008

Let us not forget the Lord Almighty, Whom despite all, remain faithful to His people. May we honour Him, remember Him in our daily walk.

Happy New Year!

My New Running Shoe!

I have been running on non-expensive low end running shoes since I took up running as serious hobby-cum-exercise. To my girlfriend Ai, I am very very grateful for buying me my first-ever pair of Adidas running shoes, and I finally realised how unfairly I have treated my feet and my running muscles.

It is wonder why I am willing to spend thousands on a treadmill but yet to buy a good pair of shoes for a few hundreds.

It has been a good Christmas.

What is 2009 going to be?

Predictions heard so far:

1) Economy in the country will be worse after the Chinese New Year. Jobs cut, salaries cut, working days cut.

2) Economy in US continue to slump.

3) Obama will do a good job, but he should have been President earlier. It is just a bit too late.

4) Most of the rich will still be rich, maybe a few millions less, but the poor will be hit hard.

5) Malaysia will be still be UMNO Malaysia. Pitiful.

6) Mahathir will still talk more crap, and refuse to admit his own sins and mistakes as PM.

The Almost IJN takeover

Heck. Crap. What in the Tanah Melayu were they thinking to even consider this bid in the first place?

IJN is the last bastion of affordable cardiothoracic care for this country. It is the only hope for a baby with a complicated heart condition for a repair that will be life-saving, for a lowly government servant who needs a bypass and for an orang asli lady with rheumatic heart disease who needs a change of valve.

Now, if SIME DARBY is willing not to charge a single sen to these needy patients, by all means then we can talk. Unless SIME DARBY outlines the complicated process of making profits while still providing affordable high-end cardiac care to the large Malaysian population who could not afford to enter a SIME DARBY owned healthcare facility in the country, the Malaysian government should not even mention a tid bit of willingness to negotiate on this irresponsibly wanton takeover.

The Malaysian public should be very disappointed with Badawi and the top leadership to even mention that they are not against this takeover. It is commendable for the Cabinet, which consists of ministers apparently wiser than Badawi to shoot down this bid.

Institut Jantung Negara is originally the cardiothoracic and cardiac units in Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The government must think about replacing the lost arm of HKL before even considering selling IJN to any private owners.

Badawi and his ministers should instead propose to SIME DARBY to take over the public transport system,  the public toilet system, the public tourist spots management like zoos, waterfalls, and the dirty beaches, and national parks, and other loss-making projects of the government.

IJN is doing well for now, so please keep OUT. While the Tun can afford a privatised IJN, many other better but poorer Malaysians than the Tun could not.

A rather unreliable source mentioned that in the near future, government doctors will be paid RM 300 per weekday on call and RM 500 per weekend day on call.

Now, although government doctors who work hard and get sleepless over many patients during their calls really deserve the pay rise (because it finally reflects the respect for the labour of the profession, sacrifices, etc.), there are two issues that would make this rumour just another rumour.

Issue 1: The Health Ministry will have to increase their expenditure by a great deal just to accomodate the sharp rise in the allowance.

Issue 2: The gap in income between the support staff and medical officers will be even greater. One can argue that the support staff should be taken into consideration in the matter of increasing their take home pay, because the management of a patient requires not just the doctor, but the contribution of nurses, lab technicians and of course, the ever-so-important medical assistants (Penolong Pegawai Perubatan).

Many medical officers in the government service will continue to be sceptical about this rumour until it is finally announced.

Changing blogging habits

From now on, I will try my best to detach the personal and emotional bits and chatter from my blogging content. While I am still very interested in contributing to the cyberspace content, and sharing thoughts and opinions – I will now prefer to share photos, reviews, articles that is less personal but more fruitful.
